The film ‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li’ is a Japanese film directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak of ‘Romeo Must Die’, ‘Exit Wounds’, ‘Cradle 2 the Grave’, and ‘Doom’ fame. The script has been written by Justin Marks. Hong Kong fight master Dion Lam has composed the fights. Earlier, he worked for the film like The Matrix Trilogy, Spider-Man 2, and all of Bartkowiak's previous films.

The flick stars Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan and Taboo in the lead roles. The movie is about a female fighter Chun-Li on her quest for justice. 20th Century Fox films’ is distributing the film and is set to release on 27th February, 2009.

The 27-year-old singer is now enjoying success with new albums 'Circus' and ‘Womanizer’ is planning a world tour with Sandip Soparrkar. Earlier, Sandip has worked with pop divas like Madonna, Beyonce and Shakira.

Britney said: “Rajasthan is an amazing place and I feel like an Indian princess in this ghagra-choli with gold work that Sandip had gifted me. I love the dal baati churma. Sandip and I have decided to spend New Year together. I wish the media would not probe our relationship till we wish to bring it out in the open”.

Speaking to media Sandip said: “We will just doing a bit of rehearsals, since I am planning to do the rumba, which is the dance of love”.

Kanji Nakajima's ‘The Clone Returns Home’

The Japanese sci-fi film ‘Kurôn wa kokyô o mezasu’ is being translated into English with the title ‘The Clone Returns Home’. The film is both written and directed by Japanese filmmaker Kanji Nakajima. The film first premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival in October and will be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

The movie is about Kohei, a young astronaut, agrees to participate in an experimental cloning program that will "regenerate" his body and memory should he die. So when he's killed during a space mission, scientists are able to regenerate his clone. But problems occur with its memory, which regresses to Kohei's youth and the accidental death of his twin brother. Distressed, the clone flees the lab in search of his childhood home. Along the way, he finds his own lifeless body in a space suit. Mistaking it for his brother, he continues his journey carrying the body on his back.

The new posters of three forthcoming Hollywood films were released, which will release in 2009. The first one is Paul McGuigan's sci-fi thriller flick "Push”. The film is a big-screen version of ‘Heroes’ and stars Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans and Camilla Belle. It is ready for release on February 6th, 2009.

Second film is "Fast & Furious” in the direction of Justin Lin. The flick stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker in the lead roles. The flick is going to open in theatres on April 3rd, 2009.

Third one is Will Ferrell's adventure comedy film ‘Land of the Lost’. The movie is about a ranger who ends up in a mysterious land inhabited by peculiar creatures. The movie is set to release on 5th June, 2009.

Disney has launched the official poster for ‘Race to Witch Mountain’, directed by Andy Fickman of ‘She's the Man’ and ‘The Game Plan’ fame. The flick is a remake of ‘Escape to Witch Mountain’ and is based on the best selling book of the same name by Alexander Key. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Anna Sophia Robb, and Carla Gugino in the lead roles. The screenplay has been written by Mark Bomback of ‘Live Free or Die Hard’ fame and Matt Lopez, who recently wrote ‘Bedtime Stories’.

The movie is about an UFO expert enlists the help of a cabbie to protect two siblings with mystic powers from the clutches of an organization that wants to use the kids for their evil plans. The film is set to release on 13th March, 2009 next year.

‘Kamagata Maru’: A story of 376 Indian passengers-340 Sikhs, 12 Hindus, and 24 Muslims

Komagata Maru’ the voyage of a Japanese ship hired by people from Punjab led by Gurdit Singh from Hong Kong to Vancouver in 1914 with 376 passengers on board seeking a new life in the promise land.

On May 23, 1914, the Komagata Maru reached Vancouver and anchored near Burrard Inlet. Both the Indians and the Canadian authorities had been waiting for it. The Canadians wanted to send the ship back to where it had originated. The Indians on the other side had lawyers, money and other provisions ready to help the passengers.

The Canadian authorities have claimed to pay the $200 per passenger that would have qualified them to enter British Columbia. But they did not have that much money. Twenty-nine were injured to the bullets of British officials and 20 died. This is another bloodbath of innocent Indians at the hands of the British.

Finally, the Komagata Maru returned to India's waters on September 26, 1914, leaving behind only 24 passengers in Canada.

Now a new film ‘Komagata Maru’ is planned on this real incident and is being directed by Indian-born Canadian film director and screenwriter Deepa Mehta. Akshay Kumar will be playing as Gurdit Singh and Shriya Saran is heroine. Vinay Virmani is playing the character of Mewa Singh.

The film will jointly produced by Hamilton-Mehta Productions Inc and Akshay Kumar's Hari Om Entertainment. Currently the flick is in pre-production and will begin in 2009. The film will be shot in various locations around the world.

Scott Frank to direct ‘Planet of the Apes' sequel

It is known that Scott Frank is likely to direct the sequel film to ‘Planet of the Apes’. Scott worked as screenwriter for the films "The Interpreter", "Dead Again", "Little Man Tate" and "Flight of the Phoenix". In 2007 he directed the film ‘The Lookout’.

It is reportedly learnt that the film is tentatively titled as ‘Caesar’. The flick centers on how the Apes took over Earth. The story of involves a hyper-intelligent chimp raised by humans incites a worldwide ape revolution and causes the downfall of mankind.
